so, this is what life is supposed to be like...

you get through a week, and you enjoy the weekend. i wish life could be more like that nofx song about how he loves weekdays, cause the weekends are when he works. come to think of it, i really loved going out on sunday. showed up at the sunset bowling bar and instead of doing ANY bowling at all, HEW and I celebrated his birthday by drinking Mac & Jacks' and me doing karaoke. HEW said i blew people away, not the case.  i had a good time though, i sang 'two princes' by the spin doctor's  (anyone else remember that song?), and to end the night they let me sing 'good riddance' by greenday. it was mellow and cool to be sitting in this little bar with like 8 other people. goodtimes.

to expand on saturday...
ok, so my dumb-ass thought that the showbox was where the graceland was. oops. well, thanks to the resourcfulness that i can honestly say i pick up from jen, i just grabbed a stranger (the paper, not a person)  and looked up the place in the club listings, found the address and booked it down there with plenty of time to spare as the these things never start on time.  so yeah, the gossip and pretty girls were fucking awesome just like HEW said. the new mexicans were very technical and good as well. the first band...SUCKED.  no other way to put it. i hate bands that try to make up for having no vocal ability by screaming and dumbing down the music so they can call it punk. no, it's not punk, it's shit. i'm sorry. get over it.

anyways, another weird sidenote of the whole night was that i ran into duncan forbes, a guy who grew up across the street from me in kenai, and who i went to college with up at the university of alaska anchorage. so, he and his girlfriend (who i met when we were in anchorage way back) kinda hung out with HEW and i the whole night. it was very cool. we ended up giving them a ride home, before we headed out to beth's. we alaskans have to stick together. i hadn't seen duncan or kate (gf) since 1999. LAST MILLENIUM! damn.

So, yeah, i would have to say that last weekend was a great weekend. Good music, food, beer and, of course, people.  i wish that every day could be like this last weekend. i'd like jen to be present for obvious reasons. other than that it was just goodtimes all around. i'm not gonna complain about who could make it and who could not, it's been done already and i know we don't really solve anything by doing it.  it IS nice to vent about people that piss us off and i don't want to stop doing it altogether, but i'm just concentrating on all the good shit that went on this weekend.

so, next weekend is the capital hill block party. bands playing for two strait days, well maybe not strait, but nonstop! :) sounds like a shitload of fun to me. i'm supposed to meet up with my alaskan friends again there and i hope that i can talk some of the rest of you to come with me! i'm gonna approach it like i did this last weekend...I'M going, if ya wanna come,  i'd love you to be there with me! other than that, i'll see ya later.

so, to drive the point home...happy birthday HEW. Hope everyone's work/school week goes well and make sure to keep in touch!  Scout, you and shwee should get ahold of me and see what's going on this coming weekend!

till next time...

take care everyone...
